Filler/scrapped videos

In this section I am going to talk about the mini videos I have made in between the big videos, which were the main focus. The point of these videos were to post something in between uploads to try and get more engagement on the account. These videos include trending audios, recorded directly in TikTok, so as soon as I was done with a make-up look I would go looking for any viral audios or trends. Throughout the entire process of this project I had a collection of videos saved to the TikTok account to look back on later and see if I want to use any of them for inspiration.
I am also going to talk a little bit about scrapped videos that I have, whether they may have failed from poor lighting or poor preparation. I am going to start with before I changed the project idea.
Glorb at Park
As I mentioned in the first blog I made a promotional video for Glorb in a park, but another video that I did not talk about was the "aftermath" of the first situation. This one was meant to serve as an introduction of Glorb itself, whilst the human who recorded Glorb stood to its side, terrified because an alien is conducting a mini interview with them. I wanted this video to showcase that Glorb was just a curious and lost being, and that no human should be scared of them but rather listen out to Glorb. However, because this was very on the whim and my first time going out in alien make-up I did not prepare enough. I did not have any notes, I forgot to take my hayfever pills, making my make-up run down and I could not get my act together (literally, I can't act). Therefore, I scrapped this video totally.
Blue Make-up

I did this blue make-up, which was inspired by a dress I've been wanting to wear, for the first time I went out to record with the Insta360. I wanted to talk about the "crazing" in porcelain mug for the topic of the video, as that was something I did not know before until I got a charity shop mug that started making a crackling noise after putting hot water in it. I did not have thorough notes planned for this, so I did not have enough to talk about due to my limited research. and I really just went out on a whim to test out my limits with the camera. I went to my local park and sat on a bench, but by the time I started recording and getting really into it the sun started disappearing. This meant that the rest of my footage was too dark and you could not see me at all. For some reason I thought that the camera would
automatically adjust to the lighting environment, but this was my fault as I should have come prepared with extra lamps and/or have left the house earlier. I consider this a mega fail, as I also felt that the make-up was not crazy/weird enough for the concept and purpose of my project. Regardless, even though I have scrapped it, this recording gave methe confidence and idea as to what this project would mean going forwards. Still glad I went ahead and did it, but it is totally not what I wanted my final product to look like.
Trendy Filler Videos
I used this trend to highlight a very common problem I run into when I go out in weird make-up, and that is everybody staring up and down, or annoying teenagers screaming names at me because they had nothing better to do. I think I utilised this trend well, as this video got the most comments out of all of them (sad), with someone writing "You're green bro, what do you expect...", which is exactly what I wanted. I wanted somebody to address the obvious, as I am dressed in my Glorb make-up from my first day of recording. In the caption I highlighted this problem and said "normalise weirdos".
This is literally me just dancing to a song called "Alien Boy" by Oliver Tree, which looking back at it now I should have used this audio when I was dressed as Glorb. My brain sometimes doesn't work the way I want it to. I put the caption "normalise whatever this is" in the middle of the video, because that is how I felt about that video. I recorded this when I got back from town in one of the study rooms after recording my first official video (vlog with a friend, polka-dot make-up).
This one I also recorded on Glorb day, so maybe not all was scrapped from it. Beware, the audio has swear words in it, so mute it if you have kids around. The audio consists of a man basically saying "Guess what, you knew who I was when you met me" and I wrote a caption over the top quoting "But I thought you were a normal person". Pretty weak text with a pretty weak punchline, but somehow people still liked it.
This audio consists of a guy saying "But you can't be a boy and get into the twerkathon, it just doesn't work like that", last line being repeated. People use audios like this to adapt to their own version of situation, so for mine I put "But you can't procrastinate posting whilst expecting to blow up", continued with the same ending as the audio. I have no explanation for this as I just found the audio really funny anyway, and wanted to showcase make-up for a video I never ended up recording in the first place (this red make-up was originally for my albatross notes, but life happens).
Now, these two... I decided to create my own chain of videos to compare all the make-up looks. The song I'm using is "Work" by Iggy Azalea, and I first used this on my personal account, but I thought it would be cool if I dueted myself from CreatureOnStreet and put a caption saying "whaat we look alike" for promotion. It sort of flopped a lot, but still cool that I had a consistent (well, when I remembered) chain of videos going as my own little trend.
That is all if it comes down to ALL of my videos on the TikTok account. I covered possible everything that I could, and I am kind of ready to forget about it all. I will probably continue recording and posting for this account, for example the Graduate Showcase!
